Nel 1984 i Judas Priest pubblicarono un altro platino, ovvero “Defenders of the Faith”. Il 10 Marzo 2015 la band ripubblicherà una versione su tre CD di questo storico album.
La band dichiara “Sono 30 anni che abbiamo pubblicato Defenders of the Faith. Siamo fieri di dire che è diventato un classico amato dai fans della band in tutto il mondo.”
Oltre alla versione rimasterizzata delle 10 tracce originali, gli altri due dischi conterranno un concerto intero registrato il 5 Maggio 1985 a Long Beach Arena in California.
“Defenders of the Faith”, uscito il 4 Gennaio 1984, fece seguito a “Screaming for Vengeance”. Ci furono tre singoli: “Freewheel Burning”, “Some Heads Are Gonna Roll” e “Love Bites”. L’album fu anche famoso per la copertina che rappresentava un mostro chiamato “Metallian”.
