Si diceva, si bisbigliava, c’erano anticipazioni ma in definitiva la realtà dei 50 anni di “Wish You Wete Here” dei Pink Floyd sono una totale realtà. Cosa ha dunque pensato al Sony ha comprato il catalogo della band per oltre 400 milioni di dollari –  per celebrare questo compleanno?  Un cofanetto, proprio come da bisbigli e anticipazioni!
“Wish You Were Here” sarà un’edizione celebrativa con rarità e tanto materiale. Ci saranno sei versioni alternative dell’album e demo inediti che presentano quello che è stato l’ottavo lavoro in studio dei Pink Floyd. QUI tutto ciò che uscirà sul mercato per questo album epocale che potrete avere nella forma dei vostri desideri.

La verisone Blu-ray con un mix in Dolby Atmos è stato curato da James Guthrie, già autore di altre revisioni su alcuni titoli dei Floyd. Tra le verisoni demo e ineditefigura anche un celebre live messo in bootleg da Mike Millard durante il concerto dei Pink Floyd alla Los Angeles Sports Arena del 26 aprile 1975. In pratica si ha l’ufficializzazione di questo bootleg con audio restaurato e rimasterizzato da Steven Wilson. Questo Live sarà pubblicato esclusivamente su Blu-ray, chissà se in futuro si sarà anche una pubblicazioone a parte, come per esempio è stato per iul live in Wembley per il precedente anniversario di “The Dark Side of the Moon” che appunto includeva quel live.
Nel Blu-ray figurano anche i tre filmati da schermo proiettati durante il tour del 1975, oltre a un cortometraggio di Storm Thorgerson.
Nella versione deluxe i due CD e i quattro vinili (in esclusivo vinile trasparente) includono l’album originale e nove bonus track in studio. Il quarto vinile è Live At Wembley 1974, c’è poi una replica del singolo giapponese 7” di “Have A Cigar” con “Welcome To The Machine” sul lato B, un libro con fotografie inedite, il celebre fumetto del tour e il poster di Knebworth.

Insieme al cofanetto deluxe usciranno anche singolarmente 2 Cd, un set di 3Lp, un vinile giallo e il Blu-ray.
